Award will receive special recognition for the funding provided to <br />assist the Colorado Inactive Mine Reclamation Program (CIMRP) address hazards and environmental <br />problems that remain at historic hard rock mine sites in central Colorado. Freeport's <br />acknowledgement of the impacts of historic mining practices and willingness to fund projects <br />hampered by very limited available public funding is a significant step forward toward reclamation <br />of Colorado's remaining legacy mining problems. This financial commitment has provided the <br />CIMRP opportunities to leverage additional reclamation funds from multiple government agencies <br />and nonprofit environmental organizations resulting in significant benefits to Colorado's citizens and <br />environment. Freeport's corporate philosophy and dedication to provide beneficial economic and <br />social results coupled with a strong commitment to environmental stewardship, is deserving of special <br />recognition. <br />The award will be presented at the Awards will be presented at the Colorado Mining Association <br />115 National Western Mining Conference & Exhibit at the Colorado Convention Center. The <br />awards luncheon will take place on Wednesday, February 27, 2013.
