As you have requested, I have reviewed the above referenced permit revision submitted by McClane
Canyon Mining, LLC for the McClane Canyon Mine (MCM). Many of the questions and comments
raised in the first adequacy review of February 15, 2011 are no longer applicable due to the removal of
the surface facilities expansion plans. As requested by MCM, Section 4 of the PAP will be removed
upon final approval of PR-2.The information and discussion presently in Section 4 of the PAP will be
moved to section 2.04.9. The new pages with the correct page numbering are included in MCM’s
October 2012 Adequacy Response.
Appendix T –Baseline Soil Survey and Appendix W –Alluvial Valley Floor Determination, both for
the proposed expansion area,will remain in the permit. AppendixU–Vegetation Information and
Appendix V–Wildlife and Sensitive Plant Study, both for the proposed expansion area, are being
withdrawn at the request of MCM.

Rule 2.04.9 –Soils Resource Information

24.The text on Page 2.04-33(1)(c)refers to Figure 4.4-2 for the soil sampling locations. Figure 4.4-
2 submitted with the PR-2 application on November 1, 2010 delineates the water sampling
locations. The text should refer to Appendix T –Figure 1 for the the soil sampling locations for
the proposed expansion area. Please amend the text on page 2.04-33 to refer to the correct
figure.
25.Item Resolved –The September 26, 2011 NRCS letter will be incorporated into the permit under
Appendix L.
