The complete soil survey and map, including suitability and limitations for building site
development, topsoil sources, and recreational development can be found below in this Exhibit.
Since the vast majority of the irrigated fields will be reclaimed to lake surface, there will be a
huge excess of soil that is present on the property. Only the top 12 inches of the irrigated fields is
planned to be stripped and used to construct the visual berm. Some stripped soil will be placed
directly on backfilled slopes above the water line that have been graded to a slope of 3H:1 V or
milder. Upon reclamation, the visual berm will be fully removed for reclaiming the backfilled
slopes with 12 inches of topsoil to 5 feet below waterline.
The overburden storage area has no topsoil in the pre -mine condition and will receive 12" of
topsoil stripped from the irrigated area for reclamation. This area will be planted with a dry
rangeland mix and will be returned to wildlife habitat.
Otter Creek Pit December 12 I -2
