2
3 . CF&I agrees to substitute the Ripariah seed mix
suggested by Ms. Mowry of the Division of Mined Land
Reclamation , pending availability of those species. If
the recommended species are not available , CF&I will
contact the Division to suggest suitable alternative
species . The proposed species list follows:
Rosana Western Wheatgrass 1 .5 lb/ac
Oathe Intermediate Wheatgrass 1 .5 lb/ac
Paloma Indian Wheatgrass 2 lb/ac
Regan Meadow Brome 2 lb/ac
Stream Bank Wheatgrass 2 lb/ac
Timothy 1 lb/ac
Small Burnet 1 lb/ac
Lewis Flax 1 lb/ac
Emerald Crownvetch 1 lb/ac
Lantana Cicer Milkvetch 1 lb/ac
Wood ' s Rose 1 lb/ac
Sedge (plugs) 3-ft centers only
along stream bank
Potentilla (seedlings) 5-ft centers
slightly above
stream bank
Willow Transplants (on site) 5-ft centers only
along stream bank
4 . Backup plans to be implemented at the crossing in case
of an unexpected delay would be to install the 9-ft
diameter culvert extensions on the damaged upstream
side of the existing crossing. The extentions would be
riprapped , protected by concrete headwalls, or
otherwise protected from damage due to flood events of
the Purgatoire River . If CF&I repairs the existing
system, it is highly unlikely that a bridge would ever
be constructed to replace the repaired large culvert
system. The other backup plan in case of an unexpected
delay is to temporarily repair the crossing by
riprapping the damaged slopes without putting in the 9-
ft diameter culvert extensions and to postpone bridge
construction until low water conditions can be expected
in the fall .
