3/81 <br /> h�t� �ta�i�ic�•� <br /> CeD__mm mo loam, 5 to 15 percent slopes. This deep, well drained <br /> soil is on foot slopes. It formed in alluvium and colluvium derived <br /> dominantly from sedimentary rock. The native• vegetation is mainly grass. <br /> elevation is 6,200 to 7,800 feet. The average annual precipitation is 15 to <br /> 22 inches, the average annual air temperature is 47 to 49 degrees F, and the <br /> average frost-free season is 90 to 140 days. <br /> Typically, the surface layer is loam 6 inches thick. The subsoil is clay <br /> loam 19 inches thick. The substratum to a depth of 60 inches or more is <br /> loam. The soil is neutral to a depth of 25 inches and moderately alkaline <br /> and calcareous below that depth. <br /> Included in this unit is 10 percent similar soils that are gravelly and <br /> cobbly. , {_ <br /> The permeability of this MaaMAM soil is moderate. Available water <br /> capacity is high. Effective rooting depth is 60 inches or more. Runoff is <br /> slow to medium, and the hazard of water erosion is high to very high. <br /> This unit is used mainly for irrigated hay and pasture. It is also used <br /> as rangeland and nonirrigated cropland. The main nonirrigated crops are <br /> wheat and cats. <br />
