This deep, well drained <br /> soil is on uplands and valley side slopes. It formed in alluvium derived <br /> dominantly from sedimentary rock. Slope is 3 to 9 percent. The native <br /> vegetation is mainly grass. Elevation is 6, 500 to 7,800 feet. 7 <br /> average annual precipitation is about 17 to 22 inches , the average annual <br /> air Lempurature is 46 to 50 degrees F. , and the average frost-free season <br /> is 90 to 120 days . <br /> Typically the surface _layer is loam 6 inches thick. The subsoil is <br /> clay loam 33 inches thick. The substratum to a depth of 60 inches is <br /> loam.
