Revised 11/15/81
The post-mining and pre-mining land uses of the permit area are
identical and are described in detail in Section 2.04.3 of this
application. The land use is shown on the Land Use Map (Map 4).
CF&I Steel Corporation plans to monitor subsidence at the Maxwell Mine.
A line of at least five stations will be placed perpendicular to the
first north entries north of Colorado Highway 12. These stations will
be placed well in advance of, mining. Calculations indicate that no, or
minimal , subsidence will occur. The stations will be monitored prior to
mining and quarterly during the term of this permit to determine the
validity of the calculations and to show any subsidence which may have
occurred. Details of the subsidence control plan are reviewed in
Exhibit 21, Subsidence Control Plan.
2.05-49
