CF&I Steel Corporation is a corporation organized under the laws of the
State of Colorado. The principal shareholder of CF&I Steel Corporation
is Crane Company, 300 Park Avenue, New York, New York, 10022. The names
and addresses of the officers and directors of Crane Company are shown
in Table 2, Corporation Officers and Directors.
CF&I Steel Corporation and Crane Company have operated three coal mines
within the United States during the past five years. These three mines
are the Allen Mine, Maxwell Mine, and Bokoshe Mine. Table 3 shows the
listing of these mine permits and associated information. Neither Crane
Company nor any of its affiliates or subsidiary companies other than
CF&I Steel Corporation have engaged in any other coal mining operations.
All owners of record, including CF&I Steel Corporation, of all surface
and subsurface areas which are contiguous to the proposed Maxwell permit
application are shown on the Surface Ownership Map (Map 1) , and the
Mineral Ownership Map (Map 2).
The Maxwell Mine currently operates under the MSHA Identification No.
05-02820.
