Appendix 1 -Table 8, Irrigated Pasture 20.5 Acre Reclamation Phase III Study Area -
First Year - 2009 Plant Cover. "Allowable plant cover" averaged 81.13 percent.
According to the sample adequacy equation found in Rule 4.15.11(2)(a), sample adequacy
at the 90 percent confidence level, for "allowable plant cover" was achieved with 5.1
transects and 15 transects were sampled.
The plant cover data for the Irrigated Pasture Reference Area are found in Appendix A.
Table A6, Vegetation cover data for each transect, reclaimed area IP -3 of the 2009 report
and have been modified to confirm with the current bond release requirements as found on
page 10 of the DRMS Bond Release Guideline and to be consistent with the current
definitions found in the NH2 Mine Permit. These data are found in Appendix 1 - Table
10, Irrigated Pasture Reference Area - 2009 Plant Cover. The percent absolute cover
by species, rock, bare ground, litter and relative cover are also found in this table.
"Allowable plant cover" averaged 62.47 percent. According to the sample adequacy
equation found in Rule 4.15.11(2)(a), resulted in sample adequacy at the 90 percent
confidence level, for "allowable plant cover" being achieved with 14.5 transects and 15
transects were sampled.
The second years's production sampling data for the Irrigated Pasture (IP -2) Reclaimed
Area are found in Appendix A. Table A5, Vegetation production data for each plot,
reclaimed area IP -2, of the 2009 report have been modified to confirm with the current
bond release requirements as found on page 10 of the DRMS Bond Release Guideline and
to be consistent with the current definitions found in the NH2 Mine Permit. The
production of desirable perennial grasses and perennial forbs from this sampling effort are
found in Appendix 1 - Table 7, Irrigated Pasture IP - 2 Reclaimed Area Phase III 21.5
Acre Study Area - 2009 Production. The production of desirable perennial plants
averaged 68.37 grams per one quarter square meter or 2,436.7 pounds of air -dry forage per
acre. Upon According to the sample adequacy equation found in Rule 4.15.11(2)(a),
sample adequacy at the 90 percent confidence level, for "desirable forage production," was
determined to equal 44.6 transects and 30 transects were sampled.
The production sampling for the first year's sampling of Irrigated Pasture Reclaimed Area
IP -3 are found in Appendix A., Table A6, Vegetation production data for each plot,
reclaimed area IP -3 of the 2009 report have been modified to conform with the current
bond release requirements as found on page 10 of the DRMS Bond Release Guideline and
to be consistent with the current definitions found in the NH2 Mine Permit. The forage
production of desirable perennial grasses and perennial forbs are found in Appendix 1 -
Table 9, Irrigated Pasture Reclaimed Area - IP - 3 20.5 Acre - 2009 Production. The
production of desirable perennial grasses and forbs averaged 77.27 grams per one quarter
square meter or 2,753.9 pounds of air -dry forage per acre. According to the sample
adequacy equation found in Rule 4.15.11(2)(a), resulted in sample adequacy at the 90
percent confidence level, for "desirable forage production," was determined to equal 53.6
transects and of 30 transects were sampled.
SL -14 03DEC12.wpd 44
