consisted of 682 lbs. /acre of ammonium sulfate 22 -00- fertilizer. Irrigation, consisting
of 10 shares of water, was applied to the 6.8 acre Irrigated Pasture Reference Area
when the irrigated water was diverted into the CCC ditch on 3 May and irrigation
waters reached the IP Reference Area on about 5 May. The CCC Ditch water was shut
off on 30 September and water stopped reaching the site on about 2 October 2007. In
2007, no hay was harvested from this site, so there is no yield data for hay. However,
the site was sampled by BIO -Logic in connection with revegetation monitoring
activities described previously. Grazing commenced on the Irrigated Pasture Reference
Area on about the end of July 2007 and ended in the spring of 2008 when between two
and seven head of horses grazed this site.
Management Practices Utilized in 2006. There was no repair work associated with rills
and gullies performed in 2006 on any of the Phase II or Phase III Bond Release areas.
Weed control measures targeting State listed and local species of concern including:
Russian Knapweed, Canada Thistle, White Top and Western Whorled Milkweed, were
treated via spot spraying in areas where they were located. Weed control was
performed by WFC and a licensed weed control company. Pest Management, consisting
of Prairie Dog control, was conducted for approximately two months during the
summer Weevilicide (zinc phosphide pellets) was applied to individual holes.
Fertilizer, consisting of two different mixes (a 50/50 blend of 34 -0 -0 and 18 -46 -0 and
straight 34 -0 -0) was applied to all reclaimed areas in spring of 2006. Application rates
ranged from 0 to 300 pounds per acre. Hay production listed by property owner, of the
first cutting as summarized in the 2006 ARR, documents that 219.69 acres of Irrigated
Pasture Reclamation were harvested for hay, with the weighted average production
being 2,143 pounds of field dried forage per acre. Irrigated water was diverted into the
CCC ditch on 23 April and irrigation waters reached the reclaimed areas on about 25
April. The CCC Ditch water was shut off on 27 October and stopped reaching the site
on about 29 October 2006.
The 2006 ARR contains no discussion of grazing activities. However, grazing did
occur in 2006, similar to that described in detail in connection with 2010 and 2011 for
the Pasture Reclaimed Areas. It is assumed that similar stocking rates and grazing
periods were employed in 2006.
The Irrigated Pasture Reference Area was formally approved by the CDRMS in the
spring of 2007 and thus did not exist at this time. Hence there is no information
available as to how this site was managed but it is believed that it was managed in a
similar manner, being irrigated and grazed with horses and that grazing levels similar to
those reported for 2010 and 2011.
Management Practices Utilized in 2005. There was no repair work associated with rills
and gullies performed in 2005 on any of the Phase II or Phase III Bond Release areas.
SL -14 03DEC12.wpd 22
