SPECIFICATION G <br /> QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> 1 SCOPE <br /> This specification describes the general observations, testing, and actions to be <br /> performed by the Engineer and activities to be performed by the State Engineer to <br /> ensure that the work is in compliance with the intent of the Drawings and <br /> Technical Specifications. <br /> 2 GENERAL <br /> 2.1 Approved Drawings and Technical Specifications shall not be materially <br /> changed without the prior written approval of the State Engineer. <br /> 2.2 The State Engineer has the authority to require the material used and the <br /> work of construction to be accomplished according to rules and regulations <br /> and that construction shall not be considered complete until the State <br /> Engineer has accepted the same in writing. <br /> 2.3 The owner's engineer (Engineer) will monitor the quality of construction as <br /> specified in Rule 9 of the Rules and Regulations for Dam Safety and Dam <br /> Construction, September 30, 1988. <br /> 2.4 Construction activities shall be observed by the Engineer to assure <br /> compliance with the intent of the Plans and these Technical Specifications. <br /> 2.5 The Engineer shall be responsible for all tests including compaction of fill <br /> materials, sampling of fill materials, sampling and testing of concrete, <br /> inspection of pipe welds, and other necessary tests to ensure conformance <br /> with the Drawings and Technical Specifications. <br /> 2.6 The Engineer shall have the authority to reject defective material or <br /> workmanship, and require the Contractor to either correct any defective <br /> work or remove it from the site and replace it with nondefective work. <br /> 2.7 Approved Drawings and Technical Specifications shall not be materially <br /> changed without the prior written consent of the Engineer. <br /> SPEC.
