CCS-2 Located in Ciruela Canyon below the point of Golden Eagle Mine water <br /> discharge just above the confluence with the Purgatoire River. The <br /> station was established to assess potential effects of mine water <br /> discharge and the existing coal refuse disposal area in Ciruela Canyon. <br /> SCF-1 Located in Santistevan Canyon on the north side of State Highway 12. <br /> Established a stream flume to assess potential effects of secondary or <br /> retreat mining on stream quality and flow. <br /> ACF-1 Located in Apache Canyon approximately one-half mile from the <br /> confluence with the Purgatoire river. Established a stream flume to <br /> assess potential effects of secondary or retreat mining on stream quality <br /> and flow. <br /> PAW-1 Alluvial well located in the Purgatoire Alluvium adjacent to PRS-1. <br /> Established to monitor the existing coal refuse pile. <br /> PAW-2 Alluvial well located adjacent to the Purgatoire River approximately 200 <br /> yards downstream of PAW-1. Established to monitor the existing coal <br /> P�� 2 refuse pile. <br /> PAW-5 Alluvial well located just below PRS-2 at the Golden Eagle Mine <br /> enterance. Established to gather baseline data above the Golden Eagle <br /> Mine and monitor quantity and quality of water in the alluvium below the <br /> New Elk Mine. <br /> PAW-6 Alluvial well located adjacent to PRS-3. Established to monitor mine <br /> discharge, existing coal refuse and other potential effects of mining <br /> below the Golden Eagle Mine. <br /> CCAW-1 Alluvial well located in the Ciruela Canyon Alluvium at the mouth of <br /> Ciruela Canyon. Established to monitor potential effects of Golden <br /> Eagle mining and surface facilities activities in the canyon (including <br /> refuse disposal. <br /> -5- <br />
