MDGE-1 Located in Ciruela Canyon approximately one-third mile from the <br /> confluence with the Purgatoire River. This station was established to <br /> monitor the quality and quantity of mine water discharge from the <br /> Golden Eagle Mine. <br /> MDNE-1 Located on the Purgatoire River at the mine water discharge of the <br /> New Elk Mine. The station was established to monitor the quality and <br /> quantity of mine water discharge from the New Elk Mine. <br /> CCS-1 Located in Ciruela Canyon above the point of Golden Eagle Mine water <br /> discharge. The station was established to monitor baseline conditions <br /> above the discharge point. <br /> CCS-2 Located in Ciruela Canyon below the point of Golden Eagle Mine water <br /> discharge just above the confluence with the Purgatoire River. The <br /> station was established to assess potential effects of mine water <br /> discharge and the existing and proposed coal refuse disposal area in <br /> Ciruela Canyon. <br /> SCF-1 Located in Santistevan Canyon on the north side of State Highway 12. <br /> Established a stream flume to assess potential effects of secondary or <br /> retreat mining on stream quality and flow. This station is currently <br /> inactive as per CMLRD approval. <br /> ACF-1 Located in Apache Canyon approximately one-half mile from the <br /> confluence with the Purgatoire river. Established a stream flume to <br /> assess potential effects of secondary or retreat mining on stream quality <br /> and flow. This station is currently inactive as per CMLRD approval. <br /> PAW-1 Alluvial well located in the Purgatoire Alluvium adjacent to PRS-I. <br /> Established to monitor water quality above the existing coal refuse pile. <br /> PAW-2 Alluvial well located adjacent to the Purgatoire River approximately 200 <br /> yards downstream of PAW-1. Established to monitor water quality down <br /> gradient from the existing coal refuse pile. <br /> -4- <br />
