The
proposed Environmental Protection Facility consists of a new 1-Dam seep
water pump station, and a new 1-Dam seep water impoundment, with the seep
water impoundment to be constructed within the confines of the existing
Robinson Lake. On June 25, 1996, DMG provided CMC with a letter listing
two general concerns with the proposed Environmental Protection Facility.
Both of the concerns listed in the DMG's letter are related to
installation of the proposed seep water impoundment.
CMC would like to proceed with construction related to the 1-Dam seep
water pump station during the 1996 construction season. Since none of the
concerns listed in DMG's June 25, 1996 letter are related to the pump
station, CMC may proceed with construction. Upon completion,
certification of the pump station will be required in accordance with Rule
7.3 .2 (2) of the Hard Rock/Metal Mining Rules and Regulations of the Mined
Land Reclamation Board. Construction of the seep water impoundment may
not proceed until the issues raised in DMG's letter dated June 25, 1996
are addressed to the satisfaction of DMG.
cc: Bryce Romig, Climax Mine and Mill
