C-81-012 and C-81-013
Dear Mr. Waldron:
Please find -. attached a copy of the 1988 Annual Hydrology
Report for the above-referenced mines .
We are also in receipt of Mr. William Crick ' s letter dated
January 23 , 1'989., which provided comment on the 1987 AHR.
Concerning Mr. Crick ' s comment of data collected from Well PAW-6 ,
data collected during late 1988 and the first quarter of 1989
indicates lower levels'_ of dissolved iron and manganese . The well
casing was checke-d 'for . corrosion and no deterioration of the
casing was noted . The only other explanation for the elevated
metal levels could be_ the bailing technique for evacuation of
standing water in the casing . Sampling techniques have been
reviewed with sapling personnel and at least three volumes of
water will be removed prior to sample collection . No other
reparative or replacement measures are proposed at this time .
Please let me know if you have questions on this report .
Sincere ,
K. M.
