PRS-3 Located on the Purgatoire River below the Golden Eagle <br /> surface facilities. This station was established to assess <br /> potential effects of mining on stream quality and flow. <br /> MDGE-1 Located in Ciruela Canyon approximately one-third mile from <br /> the confluence with the Purgatoire River. This station was <br /> established to monitor the quality and quantity of mine water <br /> discharge from the New Elk Mine . <br /> MDNE-1 Located on the Purgatoire River at the mine water discharge <br /> of the New Elk Mine. The station was established to monitor <br /> the quality and quantity of mine water discharge from the New <br /> Elk Mine. <br /> CCS-1 Located in Ciruela Canyon above the point of Golden Eagle <br /> Mine water discharge. The station was established to monitor <br /> baseline conditions above the discharge point. <br /> CCS-2 Located in Ciruela Canyon below the point of Golden Eagle <br /> Mine water discharge just above the confluence with the <br /> Purgatoire River. The station was established to assess <br /> potential effects of mine water discharge and the existing <br /> coal refuse disposal area in Ciruela Canyon. <br /> SCF-1 Located in Santistevan Canyon on the north side of State <br /> Highway 12 . Established a stream flume to assess potential <br /> effects of secondary or retreat mining on stream quality and <br /> flow. This station is currently inactive as per CMLRD <br /> approval. Station activation will be triggered when longwall <br /> mining commences under Santsitevan Canyon. <br /> ACF-1 Located in Apache Canyon approximately one-half mile from the <br /> confluence with the Purgatoire river. Established a stream <br /> flume to assess potential effects of secondary or retreat <br /> mining on stream quality and flow. This station is currently <br /> -5- <br />
