Pineda <br />Director <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article <br />33, Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on November 23, 2012, an application <br />to renew an existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at the New Horizon Mine was considered <br />complete for the purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface <br />Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules initiate from this date of filing. <br />Western Fuels - Colorado, LLC proposes to continue Surface coal mining and/or reclamation operations on <br />land located approximately 1.7 miles Northwest of Nucla, Colorado. The permit area is further described as <br />follows: <br />Sections 25 and 36, Township 47 North, Range 16 West; Section 31, Township 47 North, Range 15 West; <br />Section 6, Township 46 North, Range 15 West; and Section 1, Township 46 North, Range 16 West. <br />The above - mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Nucla. <br />No modifications to the existing permit have been proposed with this renewal application. <br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Montrose County Courthouse <br />Nucla Annex, 300 Main Street, Nucla, CO 81424, and at the Division office.
