1 <br /> NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR REDUCTION OF WARRANTY AMOUNT <br /> COLORADO MINED LAND RECLAMATION PERMIT <br /> The Climax Molybdenum Company, Climax Mine; Fremont Pass, Climax, Colorado 80429, has <br /> applied for a Reduction of Warranty Amount under an approved Mining and Reclamation Permit <br /> (M-77-493)with the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology for its mining operation located <br /> in Summit, Lake, and Eagle Counties. The proposed Surety Reduction involves the completion <br /> of reclamation at Eagle Park Reservoir (formerly known as Climax Moly No. 4 Dam, the Oxide <br /> Pond). Reclamation of this 60.4 acre water storage impoundment and construction associated <br /> with the dam infrastructure serve a post-mining land use of developed water resources for this <br /> area of the mining facility. Eagle Park Reservoir resides entirely in Eagle County. The Climax <br /> Mine location is 12 miles north of Leadville, Colorado in multiple section portions of Townships <br /> 7 and 8 South,Range 78 and 79 West, 6th Principal Meridian. <br /> The proposed date of completion for the reduction of warranty is January 12, 1998. <br /> Additional information and tentative decision date can be obtained from the Division of Minerals <br /> and Geology, 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567 or at <br /> the Climax Mine office (719)486-2150. <br /> Public comments concerning the appropriateness of the requested release must be submitted in <br /> writing and must be received by the Division of Minerals and Geology within thirty (30) days of <br /> the date of this publication. <br />
