There are two quarries that
may be used: One is below 3-dam and one is near 1-dam. A total of
about 20, 000 cubic yards of aggregate is needed for the highway
job. Both of the quarries are within the area of affected lands
defined in the 1989 amendment (AM-002) to the Climax Mine permit,
and are bonded for reclamation.
It is the policy of the Division of Minerals and Geology that
reclamation permits are not necessarily commodity specific . As
long as the quarries are within the area of affected lands and are
covered by the financial and performance warranties for the Climax
Mine, aggregate from the quarries may be sold or bartered for off-
site use .
cc : Bryce Romig
C:\WPSl\CLIMAX.QRY
