Pineda <br />Nucla, CO 81424 Director <br />Re: New Horizon Mine (Permit No. C- 1981 -008) <br />Permit Renewal Application No. 6 (RN -6) <br />Dear Sir or Madam: <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article <br />33 Section 118 Paragraph 3 of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on November 23 2012, an application <br />to renew an existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at the New Horizon Mine was considered <br />complete for the purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface <br />Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules initiate from this date of filing. <br />The applicant Western Fuels - Colorado, LLC, proposes to continue Surface coal mining operations on land <br />located approximately 1.7 miles Northwest of Nucla, Colorado. The permit area is further described as <br />follows: <br />Sections 25 and 36, Township 47 North, Range 16 West; Section 31, Township 47 North, Range 15 West; <br />Section 6, Township 46 North, Range 15 West; and Section 1, Township 46 North, Range 16 West. <br />The above - mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Nucla. <br />No modifications to the existing permit have been proposed with this renewal application. <br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Montrose County Courthouse <br />Nucla Annex, 300 Main Street, Nucla, CO 81424, and at the Division office.
