the access road gate will also be locked to prevent unauthorized access. Inspections will be done on
all underground chemical storage once every 2 weeks.
7. Facilities Evaluation
Maps and drawings describing the underground mill layout are given on 7 drawings provided by
Samuels Engineering, which are included in Appendix 7.
7.1 Mill Description
Crushing
Mined ore from the main mine tunnel will be arriving at the mill dump point via rail cars. The rail
cars will be dumped into one of two hoppers depending on the ore materials source. (The hoppers
will have a 12 inch grizzly on top with a rock breaker to prevent oversize material from entering the
plant.) After the ore is in the hopper it will be pulled out using a feeder and be placed on a 48 inch
wide belt conveyor. Over the belt conveyor will be a magnet for removal of tramp iron from the
feed, which can damage the crushing equipment. The belt conveyor will feed a Metso C80 jaw
crusher. The jaw crusher will crush the material from 12 inches to 1.5 inches. The product from
the jaw crusher will be sent on a 24 inch wide conveyor to a horizontal FLSmidth 5x16 screen.
The inclined screen will sort the material into two size fractions with a separation point of 3/8 of an
inch. All the material smaller than 3/8 of an inch will be sent to a fine ore bin. All the material
which is coarser than 3/8 of an inch will be sent via a 24 inch conveyor to a Nordberg 3 foot short
head cone crusher. The cone crusher will crush the feed material to 3/8 of an inch or finer. The
product from the cone crusher will be combined with the jaw crusher product on the 24 inch belt
conveyor and brought to the screen for size separation.
Grinding Circuit
The material from the fine ore bin will be pulled out using a scaled belt feeder to ensure accurate
ball mill feed tonnages. The material will be fed into a 8 foot diameter and 12 foot long ball mill
which will grind the feed material to eighty percent passing 150 mesh. The ball mill will grind in
Revenue Mine August 2012 T -26
