The existing access road may be altered during the reclamation of the shop and office areas, but this
is not currently planned. An access road will remain after reclamation to facilitate site access for
monitoring. The Atlas waste pile access road will remain as well.
19. Mine Water - Post Mine Plan
The mine water will be moved from the current mine pond to a permanent perforated pipe buried in
the waste rock, as part of the mine plan. This pipe will be left in place following reclamation. It
should easily be stable since the water will travel through the porous waste rock. The slope stability
of this design is discussed in Exhibit U.
20. Post - Reclamation Site Drainage
The entire site will drain to Sneffels Creek, as it has done historically. Diversion structures uphill of
the disturbed areas will be left in place permanently to reduce any erosion on the topsoiled areas.
These diversions have been designed for an event over 100 years in frequency. These diversion
structures may fill naturally over time, but by that point the vegetation on disturbed areas will be
well established. Debris that may enter the top of the piles after the ditches have filled will naturally
occur anyway and should not affect the piles in any way. As is seen in the final slope cross sections
of Map C -6, the top of the piles are mildly sloped and future long term debris will fill over the top
of the piles and will revegetate naturally, just as it does over thousands of years in the undisturbed
areas. Collection ditches installed during mining will be reclaimed once vegetation has established
on the areas of the Revenue that have been topsoiled and seeded. The sediment ponds will remain
in place until the collection ditches are reclaimed
The potential effect of future debris flows on the post -mine reclaimed site is discussed in Exhibit T.
21. Weed Control
Appropriate measures will be employed to minimize the occurrence and spread of noxious weed
species. The Weed Control Plan for the site will include:
1) A weed survey will be made of the permit area each spring in April or May.
Revenue Mine August 2012 E -8
