According to the DWR permit information,
this well was completed to 100 ft. in the Raton formation.
Referencing Southfield Map 12: Mine Area Surface and Groundwater Hydrology, The MSHA Map that shwos the
final Southfield Workings, and Southfield Map 17: Mine Plan, the closest Southfield workings are located in
SW1 /2 NE1 /4 Section 24, T20S, R70W , 6th PM. These workings were in the Red Arrow Seam.
The closest Southfield workings to Well 119459 are approximately 1028 feet to the Southeast. The closest
"affected area" (Affected area includes the projected angle of draw from the workings) to well 119459 is
approximately 800 feet to the southeast.
The Division does not have any information to indicate that Well 119459 was undermined by Energy Fuels.
Reference to Map 12 shows that Well 119459 does lie on the eastern edge of the Corley Mine.
The Division does not have any evidence that Well 119459 was affected by the Southfield workings.
We are still investigating concerns you have expressed regarding other drill holes in the area.
Janet Binns
On Tue, Dec 4, 2012 at 8:23 AM, W D Corley, Jr. <ajjc @att,net> wrote:
Janet and George,
