We
thought the meeting held last Friday was very beneficial,
interesting and stimulating.
As a result of your written comments submitted to
Climax and our discussion last Friday, both general and
specific concerns of the DOW and Climax were resolved. This
letter is intended to document the relevant aspects of our
discussion for your review and approval. Further, we believe
that we were in agreement and that the information provided
herein appears essential only to the purpose of providing a
better understanding of the reclamation plan and does not
alter the nature, scope ,or obligations of the reclamation
plan itself. You have expressed your belief that this
information should be acceptable to the Reclamation Division
staff as additional information and should not modify the
schedule for the consideration of our permit application.
Climax and Urad experience, research and development of
techniques and diversified plant materials , and piecemeal
reclamation of tailing and Open Pit waste rock dumps will
provide the ground work for a high probability of reclamation
success with low environmental risks. Reclamation to the
Open Woodland concept as it pertains to Climax offers practi-
cality and flexibility which will allow for future managerial
input into a limited multiple use type of management for
both the reclaimed and undisturbed lands in the Climax area.
Though the Open Woodland concept is not specifically directed
