This inspection was conducted as part of the normal monitoring program of the Colorado Division of
Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (Division) for the release of permitted sites. The Monogram -Jo Dandy Mine is
110d uranium mine permit located on Lost Steer Mesa in Western Montrose County. The Division Inspector,
Russ Means, was accompanied by the operator, Nuvemco representatives on site Paul Szilagyi, Mick Carter,
and their consultant Tom Cavanaugh.
The Monogram Jo Dandy Mine permit is for a historic mining area that encompassed several small workings
throughout the area. All disturbances are pre -law in nature. Records and on site observations support the
conclusion that no present day disturbances have occurred. The current permit area covers claims under the
Anne May. A review of maps and reconnaissance show a couple of historic features within this area. An old
collapsed vent hole and one and possible two collapsed portals. None appear to be a hazard to humans nor
have environmental impact issues. These features also lie within the permitted area known as the Monogram
Mine, M- 1977- 222UG, and a Notice of Intent, P- 2011 -033 so are covered under those permits for potential
use and / or final clean -up if necessary.
Based on the historic nature of all known disturbances and the fact that these features are currently covered
by other permits a release of this permit seems to be prudent.
Inspection Contact Address
Paul Szilagyi
Nuvemco, LLC
P.O.
