E] /2SE1 /4 Sec. 10 and N1/2 and
SW1 /4 Sec. 11, T2N, R51W.
INTRODUCTION
The following is a reclamation plan for a gravel pit to be
constructed on Surveyor Creek near Platner, E1 /2SE1 /4 Section 10
and the N1 /2 and SWI /4 Section 1]., Township 2 North, Range 51
West, of the 6th P.M., Washington County, Colorado. This
reclamation plan involves an approximately 50 acre site in
Surveyor Creek, which runs the full length throughout the legally
described area. Gravel mining operations have not begun as of
the field visit on October 15, 1996. The approximate elevation
of the area ranges from 4425 to 4400 feet.
SITE DESCRIPTION
Soils
The 50 acre (approximate) site in the Surveyor Creek
drainage consists wholly of Paoli fine sandy loam. This deep,
well drained soil is on flood plains of intermittent drainageways
and is formed on mixed alluvium. Slopes average from 0% to 2 %.
Included in this unit are small areas of Table Mountain loam and
Bankard sand. Permeability of Paoli fine sandy loam is
moderately rapid. The hazard of this soil type to water erosion
is low, while the hazard to wind erosion is severe. Paoli fine
sandy loam is in the Overflow range site and is classed as Class
Iile. Other neighboring soil type, and their descriptions are
attached.
For added reference, the proposed site is in MLRA (Major
Land Resource Area) 67.
Topography
(See attached topography map.)
Wildlife
Deer and pheasant have been noted on the site. However,
other animals and birds common to Washington County would he
expected to be found in the area.
Vegetation
