South End Facilities <br />The southern portal area and related surface facilities are located in the Wl /2 of Section 2 and the E%2 <br />of Section 3, T6N, R87W, and in the W%2 of Section 35 and the E%2 of Section 34, TSN, R87W <br />adjacent to Little Grassy Creek. All facilities have been located to maintain a minimum buffer zone <br />of 100 feet between the facilities disturbance limits and Little Grassy Creek. An oval pit will be <br />excavated to expose the Wadge Coal Seam, develop a face -up area, and provide access to the coal <br />seam and mine portals. The perimeter of the face -up will be marked with signs warning persons <br />entering the area that blasting may occur. Warning signs will comply with applicable provisions of <br />Rule 4.02, and will be maintained so long as the associated dangers exist. Four portals and main <br />entries will be established for mine access for the following: <br />• Intake Air <br />• Men and Material Access (temporary belt for initial development) <br />• Belt -Entry <br />• Return Air (main exhausting fan) <br />The overburden material excavated from the face -up area will be used to build pads to the north and <br />to the south of the face -up area. The pads will be utilized for coal stockpile areas and for mine <br />facilities. Other mine facilities will be located in close proximity to the face -up and coal stockpile <br />areas, as shown and listed on Map 2.05.3 -MIA, Mine Facilities Map (South End). The southern <br />portal area surface facilities are projected to include: <br />• Mine Ventilation Systems <br />• Electrical Substation and Ground Field <br />• Material /Coal Storage Areas <br />• Water Storage Tank Pump House <br />• Utility and Compressor Building <br />• Waste Handling and Recycle Area <br />• Temporary Transfer and Portal Belt <br />• Radial Stacker <br />• Mine Portal Heaters <br />• Rock Dust Tank <br />• Electrical Metering Station <br />• Portal Sump Pump Station <br />• Covered Storage <br />• Water Well CCU036 <br />• Topsoil Stockpile <br />• Replacement Power Poles and Installation of Fiber Optics Line <br />• Mine Roads <br />• Drainage and Sediment Control System and Associated Ponds <br />• Spoil Water Dewatering Well <br />Standard maintenance procedures, such as preventive maintenance programs, painting, and <br />lubrication shall be utilized throughout the active life of all structures and facilities. All facilities <br />will be removed, and the associated disturbance areas reclaimed to approximate original contours, <br />and the approved postmining uses when no longer required to support ongoing or future mining and <br />MR -11 2.05 -13 Revision 8/12 <br />
