Please note that Outfall's 008, 009,
011, and 012 did not discharge during this water year. Also note that Outfall 010 is not
yet constructed and no data will be included in this report.
All NPDES Outfalls, surface water, and groundwater wells have monitoring
requirements set forth by the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety. The
Colorado Discharge Permit System (CDPS) also has specific monitoring requirements
and discharge limits for the NPDES Outfalls. All surface and groundwater locations
have one or more of the following scheduled sampling requirements; monthly, quarterly,
semiannual, and /or annual. This information is outlined in the Approved Hydrological
Monitoring Program that is included in this report.
Outfall 007 has a quarterly, Chronic WET testing requirement. Outfall 007 did not
discharge in the l 5t quarter of 2012, therefore, no testing were performed for that
quarter. Outfall 007 has passed the requirements set forth in the CDPS, Permit #CO-
0000213.
Outfalls 008, 009, 011, 012, and 013 have a biannual, Chronic WET testing
requirement. Of the aforementioned Outfalls only Outfall 013 discharged in this water
year. The first semiannual WET test passed without a statistical difference. The second
semiannual WET test failed on the reproduction for the Ceriodaphnia dubia. Accelerated
WET testing was started immediately in accordance with Part I.A.4.c.i. of the CDPS,
Permit #CO- 0000213. The subsequent accelerated WET testing proved the following
finding, "no pattern of toxicity ". A letter dated October 2, 2012 written to the Colorado
Department of Public Health with supporting data detailing this finding is included in
this report.
F \Eng\DATA \Word \Water\2012\ANNUAL HYD REPORT 2012\2012 ann hydrology report cover letter.doc
