Kerr (Marr) Mine - Phase III Final Bond Release Request - Permit # 0 -80 -006
KCC has worked with the local weed control agent to monitor and mitigate noxious weed
infestations. Scattered patches of Canadian thistle have been observed within the reclaimed
areas. These weeds have been mitigated or eliminated by application of herbicide sprays
applied by both KCC and Higo Weed Busters who is a local weed control contractor.
(5). A surface and groundwater quantity and quality impact analysis, and an assessment of
available hydrology data relative to the impact projections contained within the approved
Probable Hydrologic Consequences (PHC):
3.1 Probable Hydrologic Consequences (PHC) Kerr Mine Site:
Given that all but eight (8) acres of the reclaimed area and the related access road (9 acres) at
the mine site was previously released in SL -04, (2008) little change in impact, if any, is
expected since the detailed PHC was submitted with SL -04. SL -04 can be referenced for this
application, SL -05, concerning the mine site if need be. The SL -04 Bond Release is on file
with the Division.
3.2 Probable Hydrologic Consequences (PHC) Kerr Loadout Site:
Concerning the former Kerr Loadout site, a study and report of surface and groundwater
quantity and quality has been generated by North Park Engineering & Consulting of Walden,
Colorado. The report, Hydrologic Evaluation Loadout Site, is included with this application
located in Appendix C.
6
