MINING PLAN EXHIBIT D (cont)
Drainage ditch (abandoned). The dredge is capable of mining to depths
of 60+ feet. Mining will continue along this face until all material
is removed from Stage I.
When it comes time to move south of the ditch a 5 acre area will
be stripped of growth medium and a trackhoe will be used to open a
shallow lake where the dredge will be set. Mining will then proceed
as described above but how the mine face is worked will be determined
at that time. Map Exhibit C -1 Mining Plan Map shows how the site may
look as mining is progressing in Stage I.
Under normal conditions 60 to 80,000 tons of material will be
stockpiled during a mining session. When adequate material has been
stockpiled the dredge and processing plant will be moved to the next
mine. Material will be removed from the stockpiled material over a 2
to 4 year period as needed and once the stockpiles are exhausted the
mining cycle will begin again. A new area will be stripped as needed
and the growth medium will be stockpiled around the perimeter of the
lake area for use in reclamation.
Mining equipment may include but is not limited to, a gravel
dredge and it's auxiliary equipment, front -end loaders, scrapers,
track hoes, bulldozers, conveyors, dump trucks and a water truck.
There are 46.82 acre ± in the affected lands, 42.18 acres + will
be disturbed as part of the mining operation. Please refer to the
Mining Timetable on page 15 for the estimated acreage of each area
associated with the mining part of this operation.
The amount of land disturbed at one time will be limited to 7.22
acres ± that will be used for processing and stockpile area (Plant
Site); 3.00 acres ± stripped pre- mining area and the actual mined area.
At any given time no more than 5.00 acres ± will need to be revege-
tated. This means that there will be no more than 16.00 acres ±
needing reclamation at any one time. Note that any area covered by
water needs no reclamation except in a narrow band below water, around
the lake shore where slopes have to be established to no greater than
3h to lv from 5 foot above to 10 feet below the water line.
INCREASED TO 12.22 ACRES ±. THIS WILL BE DONE IF THE OPERATOR IS NOT
The PlantSite area will not be mined since this area was part of
an old pre -law mine that has been backfilled. It will be utilized
throughout the life of the mine to accommodate the processing equip-
ment for the gravel operation and may serve as a site for auxiliary
uses. These uses may include an asphalt batch plant, and a concrete
batch plant, both subject to County approval. The exact layout of
these plants is unknown at this time. That information will be
supplied to the Divisions prior to them being install on the mine site
if ever. The existing
9 (revised 11/5/12)
