The properties in compliance are currently zoned
Alining-1 (M-1) and Agricultural-1 (A-1), which both allow mining uses.
There are approximately 1,300+ acres of land in the current Climax
operation which were acquired by AAIAX from the United States Forest
Service (See the attached list) which have not been zoned. Therefore,
the use of this land is not currently restricted by zoning. The County,
together with AMAX, will initiate the zoning of this property shortly
and there appear to be no impending problems with zoning it for mining
operations.
Sincerely,
0." 1/,"—
Dennis Hanson,
Planning Director
Enclosure
/daa
SUMMIT COUNTY GOVERNMENT•POST OFFICE BOX 68 BRECKENRIDGE, COLORADO 80424 303-453-2561
