Compliance With Mine Plan NA - Support Facilities Not On-site <br /> N -Other NA - Special Categories Of Mining <br /> N -Processing Waste Y -Topsoil <br /> COMMENTS <br /> This was a partial inspection of the Roadside Portals Mine conducted on October 30,2012 by Mike Boulay of the <br /> Division of Reclamation,Mining and Safety Grand Junction Field Office. There was no operator representative <br /> present during the inspection. Weather conditions were sunny and cool. Ground conditions were dry. <br /> RECLAMATION SUCCESS -Rule 4.15,Rule 3: <br /> Snowcap Coal Company, Inc. (SCC)has completed the reclamation work at the North Portal and CRDA locations. <br /> The North Portals area was inspected to view the recently completed work. Sediment Ponds 6, 10, 11, 13, and the <br /> CBA#1 Sump are now fully reclaimed. The reclaimed areas at former Ponds 6, 10, 11, and the CBA A Sump are <br /> shown in the attached Photograph No's 1-3. <br /> The clean water diversion ditch at the reclaimed North Portals from the Coal Canyon Access road to the far <br /> eastern end is completed in its final configuration. The clean water ditch will be retained as a permanent feature. <br /> The West and East Diversion Ditches receive runoff from the Bookcliffs during significant precipitation events <br /> and the water is conveyed in ditches to Coal Creek on the West side and the Gov't Highline Canal on the east side. <br /> Photograph No.4 is a panoramic view of the Roadside North Portal area showing the West and East Diversion <br /> Ditches,reclaimed Topsoil Pile Locations 1 and 3, and reclaimed Pond 13 in the foreground. <br /> SCC and their contractor did a nice job of completing the work in a timely manner. All reclamation as planned is <br /> complete with all of the reclaimed areas being top soiled, seeded and mulched.
