October 22, 2012
Dear Mr. Cazier:
Sincerely,
Joe Gagliano
Consultant
LJ DEVELOPMENT, INC.
Tim Cazier
Environmental Protection Specialist
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
256 NORTH MERRILL DR.
PUEBLO WEST, CO 81007
PHONE 719- 240 -9424 FAX 719 -583 -0583
Re: STONEWALL SPRINGS QUARRY GRAVEL PIT
NEW APPLICATION,
PERMITTE NAME / OPERATOR:
Stonewall Springs Quarry, LLC
20 Boulder Crescent, Second Floor
Colorado Springs, CO 80903
Phone No: (719) 471 -1742
The operator desires to reduce the financial warranty from the present amount to one that
can be sustained in this time of economic hard times. The operator proposes to
accomplish this by submitting a new application and altering the Mining Plan by
changing the phases to smaller areas. Additionally mining below the ground water levels
will be delayed until the demand for the sand and gravel great enough to warrant the cost
of augmentation for evaporative loss. The applicant will address the above issues in the
new application. The amount of material coming from this pit will be minimal until the
economy returns to normal.
Ultimately the operator has a desire to make this a water reservoir and gravel business
enterprise, which will enhance the local and state economy. This Gravel Pit will be a
valuable asset to the local community and will be an asset for future water storage in the
Arkansas Valley River Drainage for use by the people of the State of Colorado.
RECEIVED
OCT 292012
DIVISION OF RECLAMATION
MINING AND SAFETY
If you need additional information, please call me at 719- 240 -9424 or e-mail at
jpg @incasys.com.
