The generators used on site <br />will be modern units with relatively low emissions and noise levels. The life -of -mine production is <br />expected to be Tess than 100,000 tons. Therefore, approval for emissions of radon from EPA will not be <br />needed. <br />4. Other Agency Permits <br />Other permits and plans required for this operation that will include environmental protection measures <br />are listed below. <br />1— BLM Plan of Operations and Environmental Assessment of the plan <br />2 — San Miguel County Special Use Permit <br />3 — CDPHE Construction Permit with the Air Pollution Control Division <br />4 — CDPHE Stormwater Management Plan with the Water Quality Control Division <br />5 — EPA Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures Plan (SPCC) <br />6 — Mine Safety Health Administration, Mine Permit <br />7 — San Miguel County Building Permit- only if the plan is modified to include buildings, none are <br />currently planned <br />8 — San Miguel County Health Department Individual Sewage Disposal System Permit, if septic system is <br />chosen over self- contained system <br />5. Designated Chemical Evaluation <br />Magnesium chloride or a similar non - hazardous chemical will be used to treat haul roads within the <br />mine and waste pile area. The chemical will be stored in small quantities in its original package in the dry <br />form inside the mine portal entrance. <br />Diesel fuel, oils, and antifreeze will be used in the mine equipment. A Spill Prevention, Control and <br />Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan will not be prepared and maintained in conformance with the U.S. <br />Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) regulations unless the aboveground storage of petroleum <br />products is more than 1,320 gallons. <br />6. Designated Chemicals and Materials Handling <br />Petroleum products and antifreeze will be stored in above - ground storage tanks, drums, and smaller <br />containers. All storage areas will have secondary containment that will capture the products in the event <br />of a spill or leak. <br />4 <br />
