OBSERVATIONS
The operator wishes to put the site into a Temporary Cessation status per Rule 1.13.
PERMIT #: M- 1981 -132
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: TCW
INSPECTION DATE: October 25, 2012
This was a monitoring inspection conducted by TC Wait of DRMS in response to a Temporary Cessation
request for the permit. Mr. Tom Brubaker of Valco represented the operator during the site visit. The site is
located in Lamar on the west side of Highway 50 near the Cow Palace. Post -mine land use for this site is
wildlife habitat.
The site has not been active since the mid- 1980s, and then only a limited amount of material was removed. A
small 2 -3 acre area in the south - central part of the permit area has been excavated in the past. The
excavation area is currently vegetated and stable. There are some annual weeds within the permit area.
The permit boundaries are delineated with fence lines and adjacent canals. There was no permit sign located
at the entrance of the site. This is cited as a problem and will require corrective action.
