An $3260 amendment to the grant was approved in 1992.
CMLRD apparently received this OSM money due to Union Indemnity Insurance
Company of New York, the surety for the original $58,073 New Pryor Mine bond, going
through liquidation by the New York State Department of Insurance, beginning in 1985.
Reclamation work appears to have commenced in July of 1991. The work was conducted
principally by Kessler Reclamation and Earth Moving Company of Rockvale, Colorado.
On July 9, 1992, Jim McArdle sent a packet of forms to OSM closing out the New Pryor
grant. One of the forms states, "Final reclamation was completed and accepted by the
Mined Land Reclamation Division on March 18, 1992 for a total cost of $83,260 ".
Office of Office of Colorado
Active and Inactive Mines Geological Survey
Mined Land Reclamation
COLORADO
D I V I S I O N O F
MINERALS
GEOLOGY
RECLAMATION •MI N ING
SAF ETY•SCIEN CE
Russell George
Executive Director
Ronald W.
