Skies were clear and the temperature was warm. The day was <br /> windy. <br /> The inspection focused on Mining Area No. 1 and Sediment Pond B. Mining Area No. 3 was <br /> not inspected. <br /> FISH and WILDLIFE—Rule 4.18: <br /> • A few deer prints were scattered throughout the reclaimed area, but no deer were seen. There <br /> is no water in the immediate vicinity; the closest source may be Naturita Creek, or certainly <br /> the San Miguel River. <br /> HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05 <br /> Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures <br /> 4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br /> Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage—Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments <br /> 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> • Pond B, which has been approved as a permanent structure, was entirely dry. <br /> • The dam for Pond B was reasonably well vegetated, and both spillways were unobstructed <br /> and in good repair. <br /> • Collection ditches entering the pond from the southeast and southwest corners appear to be <br /> stable.
