SHRUB PLOT SLIDE REMEDIATION PLAN
A small slide/slump occurred above Pond O16A adjacent to the new aspen planting azea during
spring snowmelt 2007. The affected azea is approximately 325 feet by 180 feet (1.3 acres) in extent.
See attached photograph 1.
It is believed that saturated materials placed this area from road maintenance over a series of winters,
and the proximity to the lower extent of the final pit has resulted in a situation that is resulting in
discharging water (i.e., a spoil spring) and overburden settlement.
The remediation plan consists of regrading/smoothing the slump scarp and installing french drain(s)
as needed to conrtol and duect water discharge from within the slide/slump block. The location(s)
of the french drain will be determined in the field during the regrading.
The attached figure, Typical French Drain, shows a typical cross section of the french drain to be
installed, while Exhibit 12-2, Operations Plan, shows the location of the Shrub Plot Slide.
