1.0 INTRODUCTION
PEEL Environmental Services was retained by UMETCO Minerals
Corporation to supervise the drilling, construction, formation testing of three
monitor wells on Club Mesa at Uravan, Colorado.
2.0 SCOPE OF WORK
The program consisted of drilling three monitor wells on Club Mesa. Each
well was to penetrate the first aquifer. The wells are designated as CM93 -1,
CM93 - and CM93 -3 (Figure 1). During the drilling of each well a constant head
test was run in the Summerville formation in order to its permeability. To gain
additional permeability information, constant head tests were run in CM93 -
over intervals in the Salt Wash member of the Morrison formation, the Entrada
sandstone and a 25 to 30 - ft shale zone found at the top of the Kayenta
formation.
3.0 DRILLING AND COMPLETION
3.1 CM93 -1
Observation well CM -1 was drilled to provide a means of sampling the
ground water in the first aquifer upgradient to the Burbank Repository (Figure
1
