4.2 CM93 -2
Packer tests were run over intervals within the Salt Wash member of the
Morrison formation, the Summerville formation, the Entrada formation, and
within a 20- to 30 -foot shale zone at the top of the Kayenta formation.
Permeabilities of 1.7E -05 cm /sec and 8.7E -05cm /sec were calculated for the Salt
Wash and Entrada intervals respectively (Table 2 and Table 2A). The Summer-
ville did not "take" water at a pressure of 180 psi nor did the Kayenta shale
interval at a pressure of 745 psi. Permeability estimates using these pressures
and a flow rate under static conditions, of 0.025 gal /min resulted in a
permeability of 9.7E -08 cm /sec for the Summerville interval (Table 2A), and 3.8E -
08 cm /sec (Table 2B) for the Kayenta shale interval.
4.3 CM93 - 3
An interval, within the Summerville formation, was packer tested in this
well (Table 3). A pressure of 745 psi was attained without any observable water
"take" by the formation. An estimate, using this pressure and a flow rate under
static conditions, of 0.025 gal /min resulted in a permeability of 2.5E -07 cm /sec
for this Summerville interval.
19
