King Industries, Inc.
2875 Feather River Boulevard
Oroville, California
95965
RE: Coal Basin Salvage Operations
Dear Messrs Ebert and King:
The Division of Minerals and Geology is in the process of
finalizing a number of reclamation contracts for the 1996
construction season. The Rock Tunnel entry area will be reclaimed
during the coming summer. The project area includes the area
around the entries and lamphouse east to North Fork of Dutch Creek,
and the flat storage area south of the haul road across from the
lamphouse. Currently, the project is set to begin on July 8, 1996.
A portion of the overland conveyor, a limestone hopper, portions of
the electrical substation and miscellaneous scrap materials are
located within the project area.
I would like to arrange for removal of these materials from the
project area early in the season so that reclamation at this
location may proceed in an orderly and efficient manner. Removal
of the salvageable materials prior to July 8 would facilitate the
reclamation process.
I was at the mine late last week, and was able to drive to the Rock
Tunnel entry. Many portions of the mine below the Rock Tunnel
elevation are now accessible.
Please contact me at my office if you would like to further discuss
reclamation scheduling at the Rock Tunnel.
