apparently based upon its interpretation of the contract between
Resources and the salvage company.
The Division can not proceed with reclamation of the Rock Tunnel
area until the scrap and other salvageable materials are removed
from this area. Although we will continue to plan for reclamation
of the Rock Tunnel Area this year, we will be forced to postpone
the project if the materials in question can not be removed by July
8, 1996.
The Division is eager to proceed with reclamation as planned in
order that the Coal Basin reclamation project is concluded no later
than the fall of 1998. However, reclamation can only proceed at
the 405 acre tract as the salvage operation progresses. We urge
you and the salvage company to take all reasonable steps necessary
to resolve the dispute as quickly as possible.
Sincerely,
Steven G. Renner
Project Manager
CC: Michael Long
David Bucknam
Cheryl Linden
Bob Lawton, USFS, Carbondale
Albert King, A. M.
