Potential Plant Community (Climax <br />a. The plant community is about 55 percent grass, 10 <br />percent forbs, and 35 percent shrubs (air -dry weight of <br />current season's growth). Dominant grasses are <br />needleandthre'ad, streambank wheatgrass,salina wildrye, <br />Indian ricegrass, galleta and blue grama.Less abundant <br />grasses include Sandberg bluegrass, and red threeawn, <br />sand dropseed and bottlebrush squirreltail. <br />GRASS AND GRASSLIKE PLANTS <br />Vegetation) <br />Forbs present in the plant community include scarlet <br />globemallow, wormwood, Hoods phlox, yellow cryptantha <br />and littleleaf pussytoes.
