f. Shop & Dry and Maintenance Shops
Surface facilities include an office building and a water tank.
g. Roads and Associated Pads
Additional roads may be built to access the ventilation shaft as well as the mine
yard. These roads will only need to be constructed 200 -300 feet long as
preexisting drill roads will be used as much as possible. Additional acreage for
these roads is already accounted for in this permit.
Roads and pads will be sprayed with magnesium chloride or water as needed to
control fugitive dust. The magnesium chloride will not be stored onsite, but
rather brought in as needed.
h. Utilities
Electrical power will be provided by the San Miguel Power Company. Additional
lines that may be needed for future ventilation shafts will be their responsibility to
provide.
The ventilation shaft may also be used as a power drop. (See Exhibit E, Figure
E3 for location.)
i. Ventilation Shafts
One venthole site will be reopened. This ventilation hole will require a casing
and concrete pad (approximately 9x9 feet and 2 -3 feet thick) to accommodate the
fan. A water tank and pipe into the mine may also be located within the same
0.25 acres permitted for this venthole.
