Mike Boulay
58. Section 1.0 — Introduction
-23- October 16, 2012
d. Borehole #6 drill log and GW -9 data are provided with the report, but are
not referenced in the TOC. Please reference these two items.
MCM: No longer applicable, expanded coal mine waste pile no longer planned.
Stability analysis will therefore revert back to analysis approved with TR -16 and
as included in Appendix R.
a. The locations of the six boreholes drilled for the 2007 study are not shown
on the CMWP map (Exhibit A). Please revise the map accordingly, and
include a reference to the map in this section of the study.
MCM: No longer applicable, expanded coal mine waste pile no longer planned.
Stability analysis will therefore revert back to analysis approved with TR -16 and
as included in Appendix R.
59. Section 2.0 — Site Description and Geologic Setting
a. 2.1 — Relative directions described in the text seem to be rotated —90°
east of actual, e.g. the proposed coal waste pile is actually to the south
(not west, as the text indicates) of the mine haul road and —1200' south
(not west) of the mine office; additionally, the toe of the hillside is east (not
south) of the pile site. Please review the text and revise as appropriate.
MCM: No longer applicable, expanded coal mine waste pile no longer planned.
Stability analysis will therefore revert back to analysis approved with TR -16 and
as included in Appendix R.
b. The text refers to "small ridges" of native soils. Please revise the text, as
necessary, to refer to the potential dam feature (as discussed elsewhere
in this adequacy review) if this is what is intended by the text.
MCM: No longer applicable, expanded coal mine waste pile no longer planned.
Stability analysis will therefore revert back to analysis approved with TR -16 and
as included in Appendix R.
c. Based on information available from the FEMA website, it appears that
FIRM panel 0802051575B should also be referenced. Please review, and
revise the text if appropriate.
MCM: No longer applicable, expanded coal mine waste pile no longer planned.
Stability analysis will therefore revert back to analysis approved with TR -16 and
as included in Appendix R.
