OBSERVATIONS
PERMIT #: M- 1986 -074
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: BMK
INSPECTION DATE: September 6, 2012
1) The Division conducted a monitoring inspection of the site on 9/6/12. The site is a small sand and
gravel operation covering 9.9 acres. Present during the inspection was Mr. Kym Schure, the operator.
2) The site was not active at the time of the inspection. The lack of proper permit boundary markers is
cited as a possible problem on page one of the inspection report, with a compliance date. A permit sign
was posted at the access to the pit. The parcel of land which includes the current 110 permit has in
place, per law disturbed land. The Division wants the pre- law disturbed area properly delineated from
the area covered under the current permit. The operator agreed to place permit boundary markers in
accordance with Rule 3.1.12(2).
3) The permit area was walked and inspected. At present, mining is taking place along the north side of
the permit area. The pit high wall of the active mining area was stable at the time of the inspection. A
small stockpile of processed material was noted at the toe of the high wall. Approximately 3 acres
appeared to have been affected at the time of the inspection. The access road to the pit will remain in
place after the completion of mining and reclamation, to access the parcel of land.
4) The current financial warranty in the amount of $11,415.00 is deemed adequate at this time.
