The DCF was hauled
from the processing area to the placement area using 40 -ton articulating haul trucks loaded by a
CAT 988 front -end loader. The DCF was placed in a 2 -foot lift using various CAT dozers except
where haul routes were established. Haul routes consisted of four -foot lifts to be spread into 2-
foot lifts later. Laborers were present at all times during placement removing debris /sandbags and
assisting the dozer operator with lift thickness. All DCF was placed on previously approved
primary geomembrane. Fill material placed during ambient temperatures below 32 °F averaged
46 °F to 50 °F. AMEC field representatives monitored the DCF placement constantly.
Processing of Drain Cover Fill material was temporarily paused and may be complete for the Mill
Site Earthworks project.
Location
This Week
Cum
Comments
oulative
DCF Process
0
228,613
DCF processing is temporarily paused
Total
0
228,613
DCF processing is temporarily paused
F) Miscellaneous
No work performed during the week.
II) Geosynthetics
A) Geomembrane Delivery
Two loads (22 rolls) of 80mil LLDPE double sided texture geomembrane was delivered to site
during the shift. The load was delivered on a flat bed truck in good condition. The rolls were
unloaded using a CAT 950 front -end loader with forks attached. The geomembrane was placed
on three pieces of 4" HDPE pipe, staked two rolls high. An AMEC field representative inventoried
the geomembrane and was present at all times during the unloading of the geomembrane.
B) Geomembrane Installation
Geomembrane installation continued in the area shown on Figure 4 performing deployment,
seaming, and repair /QC activities. Approximately 417,784 square feet of 80mil LLDPE was
deployed using a John Deere 544 front -end loader with spreader -bar attachments and a John
Deere 200 skid -steer loader. Subgrade was inspected and approved by AMEC and Lonestar
representatives prior to geomembrane deployment. Approximately 19,690 linear feet of seam was
fusion welded using four fusion welding machine /welding technician combinations. Forty -four
destructive test samples were marked during fusion seaming. Approximately 62 linear feet of
seam was extrusion welded using on extrusion welding machine /welding technician combinations.
One destructive test sample was marked during fusion seaming. All destructive tests performed
were within project specifications. Non - destructive testing was performed for fusion welded
MEW Weekly Report WE 10.06.2012
