Lien Waiver - Coal Basin Project
The following property in Pitkin County, Colorado included a steep slope of an
area which was mined by surface strip methods and a coal waste pile near Coal
Creek:
Township 10 South, Range 89 West
Section 5: SW 1 /4
Section 8: W 1 /2
County of Pitkin, State of Colorado
The proposed work for the slope includes installing minor runon structures to
divert surface water flows from the upper coal flat and slope areas . Riprap
lined runoff structures would be constructed to accommodate and direct flows
off of the impacted areas and gullied downcast slopes and would be assimilated
by the existing wetland area at the base of the eastern downslope area. The
coal waste pile northeast of the eastern downslope area and immediately
adjacent to Coal Creek would be regraded and partially relocated immediately
to the south in an existing depression.
Mine Name: Coal Creek Basin
Owner: Mid-Continent Resources , Inc.
Based upon the information obtained from the field investigation and the scope
of the work performed on the properties the appraiser has determined that the
work performed has increased the value of mentioned properties by a total of
$1200.00 for both the slope and coal waste pile . The cost of filing a lien
against the property owner, $5,009.00 exceeds the incremental change in the
land value resulting from reclamation activities . In accordance with 30 CFR
892. 13(3)(4) of the final Rules dated October 25, 1978, it is recommended that
the lien be waived.
Re sty Specialist
rrogumSupervisor
7425F/lac
