Dept. of N..,ural Rewurct::;
Dear Candace:
Enclosed are two maps showing the location of a fan relocation
(moved from No. 3 Mine) and a proposed power line addition.
The fan will be located where the MSHA trailers used to be just
above or up the small access road from No. 1 Mine (see 1"=20 '
scale map) . No additional ground area will have to be disturbed
that has not been previously disturbed . The proposed power
line would be one large single span from the existing power
line to three new braced poles set on the side of the No. 1
haul road . A short span would then tie into the substation.
Construction access would be by existing roads; no new roads
or clearing of vegetation would be required. Some trees would
have to be cut at each end of the span (shown in red--I estimate
20 to 30 aspen) .
We would propose to start on the fan immediately (on previously
disturbed ground) and begin construction on the proposed power
line as soon as the permit is issued.
Please contact me if you have any questions , as we obviously
wish to expedite this project because of the time of year and
the impending weather .
Sincerely,
OC9_" U-)
Environmental Coordinator
DWBowman:ms
Enclosures
Copies:
George Wear
Tom Johansen
