The Plant
Segment #2
The second segment of pipe will extend a distance of
approximately 6,000,' down the roadway to the area known
as the "truck dump" which is on the hillside above the
preparation plant. The pipe will consist of 8"
polyethelene pipe, which will be buried at a depth of
approximately 4.'
Segment #3
The pipeline will continue over the side of the hill and
down to the preparation plant, conveying the mine
drainage into the plant on the south side.
The mine drainage will be conveyed into the preparation plant for
treatment. Additional equipment will be installed in the plant for
this purpose, and Mid - Continent has determined that some additional
space is needed to house the equipment. Accordingly, we will add
a concrete floor, siding and roof to the northwest side of the
plant in order to enclose the water treatment system. Measurements
of this addition are 36'x 18'.
Pipe from Plant to Outfall
Mid - Continent will install a 10" PVC pipe across the washplant
yard, extending approximately 200', from the plant to Coal Creek,
where the treated water will be discharged.
Mid - Continent is submitting a request for Technical Revision to
cover the treatment system itself; in addition, Mid - Continent is
requesting an amendment from the Colorado Department of Health
permitting us an additional discharge point. Mid - Continent won't
discharge from the new outfall until we receive the appropriate
permit approval.
If you have questions concerning this request for minor revision,
please talk to Scott Jones or Lew Thompson at the mine 963 -0555.
Thank you.
Yours truly,
Diane Delaney
Mid - Continent Resources
